We hope by now you're familiar with our culture of appreciating our staff and making sure that hard work and dedication, as well as teamwork and the right attitude to work, is appreciated and recognised. A few months ago we introduced the Tony Award, to do exactly that, and ever since, every month, we've awarded the winner with the award and a £50 Amazon voucher.
November's winner is... Mentor Ujupi!
Tony, the founder of the award, has the below kind words to say about this exceptional member of the CSS Ltd team:
"Mentor works on one of our contracts down in London and has been with the company for quite some time. Not only has he established a great working relationship with the client, but he also provides training to new officers joining the company; giving them the best insight as to what is required as a CSS officer working in London.'
"Each time I have been down to London to carry out compliance checks, I have always been impressed by his professional attitude and his presentation. His timekeeping is exemplary and his level of detail in his reports is well received. Mentor is a credit to the company and an officer that I hope remains working with us for many more years to come.'
A huge well done to Mentor, and thank you so much for all of your hard work! We hope that with Christmas coming up, the voucher can go towards a well-earned treat for yourself!
Training professional security guards
We wanted to pick up on one of the key reasons why selecting Mentor for November's Tony Award was such an easy choice: his ability to train new members of staff.
Training is something we take hugely seriously at CSS Ltd, so much so that we even have our own dedicated training facility at our head office in Wisbech. Being able to prepare new members of staff, whether they have years of experience, or if they're new to the security industry, enables us to maintain a high level of quality for each and every one of our clients.
Security guard training involves a number of detailed modules, including:
- The law: legislation imperative to the security industry is changing all of the time, and that's why it's hugely important every member of the security team understands their legal rights and limits when on shift.
- Equipment and technology: Every one of our security officers is fitted with a body camera to ensure their safety -- it's therefore important that they know how to use it! We also have an online platform called Deputy that enables staff to register their attendance, submit information and report any incidents. These are just a few examples
- Roleplay: This is where individuals like Mentor exceed in sharing their experience and providing the team with examples of incidents and how to correctly handle them when on shift.
- Emergency procedures: Including fire safety, health and safety.
- Communication and customer care: Including conflict management and record keeping, to name just a few topics that would fall under this category.
To find out more about our security contracts and what we can offer our clients, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you -- and we look forward to announcing December's Tony Award winner!
