The long weekend is finally here, celebrating the 70 years that Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne. Whether you’re a royalist or not, the long weekend and additional bank holiday have been welcomed across the country. For the security industry, the weekend is going to be far from restful! Whilst we’ll be enjoying the festivities as much as the next person, for us it will be a busy working weekend.

Security throughout the weekend of celebrations

For the first time since the pandemic, the celebrations will begin with the Trooping of Colour parade at Buckingham Palace. From there we’ll see beacons lit across the UK and street parties, with events all over the commonwealth to recognise the seven decades that Elizabeth II has reigned.

As with all events, the first consideration must be the safety of those taking part. This safety will often be outsourced to local security providers, such as Carter Security. We’re highly qualified in providing exceptional event security, from support with parking to de-escalation techniques should anti-social behaviour need managing.

Increased security at hospitality venues across the UK

With these increased celebrations, comes a larger footfall for hospitality venues, and that means our hospitality security needs to be extra vigilant.

Our years of experience make it second nature to recognise groups of individuals that may cause trouble. If this isn't managed appropriately, it might cause damages and disruption by people being drunk and disorderly. If a group is becoming too rowdy and affecting those around them, our security officers can step in and potentially ask that group to leave if deemed necessary. Having security officers on-site that you can trust keeps your staff safe and free from confrontation, and it will also help to ensure everyone else at your pub, club or bar has a great evening.

If an all-day drinking session has resulted in a few individuals becoming a little worse for wear, part of our role as security officers is helping them to get home safely. This might be calling them a taxi, or providing them with water should they need it. The safety and security of everyone at your hospitality venue is our top priority. It's this fundamental quality that's led to first aid training becoming a requirement for SIA license holders, enabling security officers to offer support in any situation.

However you’re choosing to recognise the Platinum Jubilee, we hope you have a wonderful, and safe, time!
