Cybersecurity is a huge topic, and rightly so -- the damage it can cause to your business is phenomenal! With scam artist's getting more and more intelligent, it's becoming increasingly difficult to recognise a potential hack. And perhaps more worryingly -- how would you even know if you've been hacked? If you aren't taking cybersecurity seriously, then your computer might already be being remotely monitored by hackers.

So, what should you be investing in? Cybersecurity, or manned guarding with real feet on the ground? Well, perhaps it comes as no surprise that we're going to say: both. And here's why --

How could your technology be at risk?

Computers

It's very simple. If you fall victim to a cyber-scam, then all the information stored on your computer could become exposed. The most obvious risk is, therefore, a danger to your online banking, but have you considered other information that could also be considered valuable to thieves?

  • Emails and calendars

Do you have a holiday coming up? Or maybe even a 'staycation? Or perhaps you're going to be out of the office at a business meeting next Wednesday? All of that information will no doubt be stored in your emails or your calendar on your computer. This information provides a hacker with the ideal time to break in -- when they know the building will be empty.

  • Entry codes and passwords

Are there passwords, lock codes, alarm disabling codes, alarm or key locations stored on your computer? Maybe even something as simple as a floor plan of the building? If there are, then you could be providing the hackers with an easy way to let themselves into your business premises.

  • Security guard contracts

All information is valuable, but information relating to your existing security contracts could be detrimental, especially when partnered with the information that tells a hacker exactly when the building is going to be empty and unmonitored.

Security cameras

In a sentence: It's not just computers and laptops that can be hacked. Simply put, anything electronic could be at risk, including your security cameras on site. This means a hacker could be watching your security cameras, and therefore, know exactly where the 'blind spots' are.

How can a security guard presence help?

A mobile patrol, or CCTV monitoring, can means that if your business is under threat digitally, physical damage can be limited, and hopefully, completely prevented. Whilst we can't do anything about what goes on in the digital world, we can provide peace of mind when it comes to your physical premises.

Should restricted information become available as the result of a cybersecurity breach, at least you can be safe in the knowledge that CSS Ltd security is on hand to protect your staff and building from a potential break-in.

For more information on how we can work with your business with a bespoke security contract tailored to your needs, please don't hesitate to contact a member of the team. We look forward to hearing from you.
