Next weekend, the six nations kicks off, with Wales vs Ireland, following England vs Scotland later in the day. When sporting events are shown in pubs and bars across the country, you can expect the venue to be much busier than normal, and whenever England plays, you can double those numbers! Rowdy crowds cheering the country on is great for business, but should those crowds result in anti-social behaviour, it can very quickly become bad for your reputation.

So, if you’re going to be showing the six nations on your screens next weekend, and you need additional security support, we can help. Our security officers are highly trained in de-escalation techniques, and in crowd control. All of our security personnel hold a valid SIA license, making them a qualified, reliable, and professional security solution for pubs and bars across the country.

As a national security service, we’re able to support businesses up and down the country, so no matter where you’re business is located, we should be able to help. But, what would our security officers do should they work with you to keep your pub or bar safe?

Recognise potentially troublesome groups

Our years of experience make it second nature to recognise groups of individuals that may cause trouble – particularly when it comes to sporting events. If this isn't managed appropriately, violent behaviour in crowding places can spread like wildfire, quickly becoming out of hand to a full-on pub brawl. That’s the last thing any publican wants to have in their establishment, and it’s the last thing we want too!

Sport can negatively impact people’s natural behaviour, with competitiveness making a bad partner for alcohol, and whilst it’s never our aim to curb fun and dampen the atmosphere, we will step in at the first instance of drunk and disorderly behaviour becoming disruptive. Our first port of call would be a warning, but we will have no issues asking a group or individual to leave. Conversations like these can be uncomfortable and intimidating for your team, especially if those in question are locals, so having trained security officers on-site that you can trust keeps your staff safe and free from confrontation. It will also help to ensure everyone else at your pub or bar has a great evening watching the sport that they love.

Support individuals who might need a helping hand

If an all-day drinking session has resulted in a few individuals becoming a little worse for wear, part of our role of security officers is helping them to get home safely. Contrary to security officers being the ‘bad guys’, it’s our role to keep everyone safe, and that might be calling them a taxi, or providing them with water should they need it. The safety and security of everyone at your hospitality venue is our top priority. It's this fundamental quality that's led to first aid training becoming a requirement for SIA license holders, enabling security officers to offer support in any situation.

For more information on how we can support the security of your pub or bar during sporting events, please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team.

Alternatively, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We never subcontract security guards, choosing instead to invest in training and we work hard to support our staff. We look forward to meeting you.
