Even when all legal restrictions are lifted, it's very likely that your staff and customers will feel much safer adopting socially distanced behaviour as a choice rather than a requirement. When we've lived for almost 18 months feeling fearful of large groups of people, if your business is to make people feel safe and secure when engaging in your products or service, you might need to think of security in a slightly different way.
Many of our security guards have operated throughout the pandemic, either providing security for essential businesses or adapting to the situation by working as COVID-19 marshals. This means we're experienced and well-equipped to handle social distancing measures, and we're familiar with gently enforcing them to the general public without causing offence or anti-social behaviour.
In order to support social distancing measures at your business, even when restrictions have lifted, there are a number of actions you might take that we can support you with. For example --
- Limiting the number of customers in your shop/retail business.
- Keeping windows and doors open as much as possible -- whether you're a corporate organisation, retailer or in the hospitality industry or other.
- Encouraging a one-way system if possible around your business premises.
- Signage that reminds people to try and stay 2 meters away from other people, or perhaps encouraging the option of face masks (once these are no longer a legal requirement).
Investing in additional security that can support and encourage social distancing measures will not only protect your employees and customers, but it will also help to remind members of the public and in doing so, you'll be actively contributing to keeping levels of Covid-19low in the population. Whilst these will no longer be legal requirements, it might help in making people feel more comfortable in gradually returning to normality. Having an adaptive and fluid approach to social distancing could support the success of your business, and having an experienced security team working alongside you will help remove some of that stress and worry from your staff.
