Be aware of new recruits

The start of the year is the most likely time of year that people will start job searching. This means after notice periods have been completed that spring can bring a cohort of new recruits to your business. Whilst new talent, additional experience, and fresh faces can give your business a real boost, it can make you vulnerable too.

With the new financial year approaching, budgets for 2022 will be being set. Ensure you have set aside enough budget to make any repairs from damage throughout the window. It might be doors need to be replaced from warping in the poor weather, or windows could have cracked due to high winds and flying debris. It might be that the storms of recent months have damaged the fencing around the perimeter of your business premises.

Being aware and wary and making sound decisions now about security can prevent costly break-ins and theft later down the line.

Keep an eye on new plant growth

Spring truly is a beautiful time of year, and that will often mean plants budding into life. Whilst this is aesthetically pleasing, it could cause havoc when it comes to security.

Trees and hedges with new growth can block CCTV visibility, or they could provide a natural ladder to easy access points – such as a mistakenly open window on the top floor. Be sure to keep these trimmed back during the spring and summer months – not only will this look much better than an unruly jungle outside your business, but it will have a big impact on security too.
