If you follow us on social media, you'll be aware that we're currently recruiting SIA licensed security officers. As the world opens up once more, we find ourselves in the fortunate position of being able to take on a number of new contracts, and that means we have positions to fill. If you're looking to join one of the leading security providers in the UK, there are a few things to can do to prepare for an interview.
1. Ensure you have a valid SIA license.
One of our main criteria for any new recruit is that they must hold a valid SIA license. For us this is a non-negotiable part of the process, it sets the basic standard that all of our security officers must meet. It also means that whoever we interview already has a good idea of what a career in security entails, making retention much more likely. A career in security is a lifestyle choice, not just a job opportunity, and an SIA license details exactly what a role as a security officer is.
2. Be your authentic self.
Although we're a large company with security contracts across the UK, we are largely a family run business and have very humble foundations. We take the time to get to know the security officers who operate with us and therefore being your authentic self at an interview will always make for a more successful outcome. We operate with a no-nonsense approach, and we appreciate anyone who is open and honest about their future aspirations and intentions.
3. Be prepared to represent a company with an excellent reputation.
If you're looking for a relaxed role in a security company, doing nightshifts where you can take a cheeky nap, then you're in the wrong place. We work hard to maintain the impeccable reputation we've built and our remote management processes are in place to protect not only our security officers but our clients as well. The security officers contracted to our clients often become an extension of the client's team, with Carter Security Solutions officers even receiving internal awards from the client. We take the security of whatever business we're working alongside extremely seriously, therefore it's vitally important that an individual holds the same values as us. If you're looking for an easy, half-effort career, then we won't be the right employer for you.
4. Don't be afraid to ask us questions.
We're a transparent, highly respected business that will support individuals to reach their career aspirations. If you're looking to progress in the security industry, we can and will support you in doing so. At the interview, don't be afraid to ask us how we can support your goals and reward excellent service -- we'd be more than happy to explain how our company culture can encourage people to succeed.
So, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We never subcontract, we invest in training and we work hard to support our staff. We look forward to meeting you.
