Job hunting can quickly become a stressful and arduous task, especially if you have to factor in a family as well. In today's climate, the coronavirus pandemic has made job hunting even more stressful than normal, so considering a complete change in career, to something that has a reduced risk of redundancy, will no doubt sound appealing. If you're reading this blog, you're probably considering a career as a security officer -- or perhaps you already work in the industry and know that we're hiring. Either way, there are a number of reasons why security officer roles are worth considering, and why CSS Ltd is a great employer to consider too.
1. An active career
If months of staying home to reduce the risk of coronavirus has you wanting to be more active, then a role in security is a great place to start. A far cry away from an office job, a security officer is up on his or her feet throughout the shift, whether that's as a door supervisor, mobile patrol or manned guarding position. For some of our larger clients, this might mean patrolling the premises for the majority of the shift, with regular breaks, of course!
2. Give yourself a challenge
A career in security isn't easy. Not only could the role involve evening, night time and weekend working -- often with a 4 day on and 4 day off pattern, but the people you might encounter could be fairly volatile. All of our security officers need to hold a valid SIA license before applying, but we continue to invest in our staff with quality training throughout their career. Training includes de-escalation and conflict management, as well as developing skills you might otherwise not have needed in other jobs in the past. It's a challenge, but knowing you're making a difference to not only your clients but the wider community, makes it an incredibly rewarding career choice.
3. A fair salary and career progression
Finally, there's your salary. We never subcontract, believing that it will affect the quality of the security we provide, potentially affecting the reputation we've worked hard to build and maintain. We, therefore, pay our security officers above minimum wage, rewarding them for their dedication. We also encourage our security officers to reach their full potential, offering career progression wherever necessary.
So, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We are currently recruiting for Door Supervisors, Security Officers, Gate House Officers, Mobile Patrol Officers and Manned Guard-Reception Officers - for full-time and part-time positions. We never subcontract our staff, we invest in their training and we work hard to support our staff. If you could picture yourself as working for one of the leading security companies in the UK, please get in touch. We look forward to meeting you!
