In a shocking statistic, over 1,000,000 people are expected to lose their job this year as unemployment levels hit 7.5%. We're already seeing recruitment agencies have hundreds of applications per job vacancy, and this is set to become even more worrying as the country heads further into economic decline. However, despite these worrying words, there is always an opportunity, and if you have what it takes, we are recruiting!
We have a few key qualities we look for when it comes to qualifications and personality traits, so if the below points sound familiar, then we want to hear from you!
You must hold a valid SIA license
The first thing you'll need to do is an acquire an SIA license. This will set the baseline for training in a career in security.
This license costs jus £190 for a three-year license, arguably a small price to pay to invest in a future career. The only thing to consider here is the time it takes to complete the qualification and the time it takes to process your application. This could take a number of months, so if this is something you're thinking about -- there's no time like the present!
During the application, you'll need to complete a number of training modules. These cover the basic standards that all security officers need to know inside out and back to front.
You must be hardworking, trustworthy and confident
A career in security means working both independently and as part of a team. It means representing the company and providing the best possible standard of security at all times. It means following both the law and government guidelines and being an approachable individual ready to leap into action at a moment's notice. It also means working remotely and being incredibly trustworthy.
Be flexible and ready for a lifestyle change
The final attribute we will need from you is the ability to be flexible. Many of our roles are a 4 day on, 4 day off working pattern, and you need to be ready to jump in and cover sickness or holiday leave if need be. At Carter Solutions and Services, we are 100% a team and means that teamwork is part of our culture.
So, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V.
