One of the most important things we do to ensure the security we provide is excellent to each and every client is taking the time needed to recruit the right individuals. We are incredibly proud to hold a reputation for excellence in the security industry, and that isn't something that easy to achieve or maintain! This is why we put so much importance on recruitment, and have a dedicated recruitment team in place to select those that meet our strict criteria.
In this blog, we wanted to highlight our very own Sylwia for the hard work she does in finding the right people to join the Carter Security Solutions team. Not only is she fluent in several languages, but she is also excellent at interviewing candidates to see if they have the right attitude and skillset to join the team.
What do we look for during the recruitment process?
1. Being responsive to communication.
From applying to one of our job adverts to arranging an interview time and anything in between -- how communicative you are shows how serious you are about the role. If we struggle to get hold of you, or you fail to return our call, we would question whether or not you'd be the right fit for the team. With so many of our roles involving remote working, knowing that you've responsive to communication is a huge positive in the early stages of your application.
2. Holding a valid SIA licence and any other relevant experience or qualifications necessary for the role.
We will only hire individuals with a valid SIA licence and we make this clear from the very start. If you fail to meet the basic criteria, unfortunately we won't be able to hire you. What it also shows is a lack of care taken to check the necessary experience and qualifications needed for the role. If you're serious about a career in the security industry, an SIA licence is a must. More details on how to apply for an SIA licence can be found in our blog.
3. Having the right attitude
This could include arriving on time to the interview, dressed smartly and prepared with any documents or questions you might need. The right attitude also includes being well-presented -- both in what you choose to wear to your interview as well as how you conduct yourself. Excellent communication skills are a necessary part of being a security officer, and we can get a really good idea of how you would be with a client in the way you conduct yourself at interview.
For more information on how we can support your business, please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team.
