Well, the summer has arrived with a glorious heatwave! And for security officers, this means working outdoors during the sun, or working nights and enjoying the sun during the day instead! Either way, the life of a security officer is perfectly suited to the summer months and warmer weather.

Day shifts and night shifts

During the day, our security officers can enjoy patrolling our client’s sites in the beautiful weather. This is a far cry away from the (what felt like) endless lockdowns of previous years! With so many people working from home, and many more working indoors, our security officers have a brilliant role that enables them to enjoy the outdoors.

For those working a day shift, this means enjoying the glorious sunshine, and being paid to do so! For those working nights, it means cooler shifts, and being able to enjoy the sun during the day before their shift starts. Either way, it’s a win-win situation that makes a security officer career one that is particularly well suited to the summer months.

A four-day on, four-day off working pattern

A working pattern that enables four days on and four-day off is great in the warmer months. It means enjoying the sunshine during times that are more than likely less busy than during the weekend – but still with regular weekends off when the shift pattern falls that way.

For those working a regular ‘9-5’ position, it always seems that Monday to Friday the weather is glorious, and when the weekend hits, that’s when it will rain! With a four-day on, four day off working pattern, this need not be a concern.
