Event security for bonfire night

It's that time of year when community bonfire nights get planned, bringing crowds together to watch the sky light up with firework displays. We’re highly trained in event security, meaning should you plan a bonfire night event next year, we can assist.

Whilst many of us simply wrap up warm, grab a cup of hot chocolate and possibly attend a local firework display event, there are always a select few who have their own ideas. In fact, there are a lot of rules and regulations surrounding the use of fireworks, and rightly so -- they're explosives after all!

Do you know?

  • Fireworks (including sparklers) can only be bought from registered sellers.

  • Fireworks can only be used on these dates: 15th October -- 10th November, 26th -- 31st December and 3 days before Diwali and Chinese New Year.

  • Fireworks can not be set off between 11 pm and 7 am -- except for Bonfire Night when the cut off is midnight, and New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year when the cut off is midnight.

Unfortunately, there are many people who believe that the law surrounding fireworks doesn't apply to them, and they thrive on the opportunity to set them off in private property. Perhaps your industrial site has a large car park, or maybe your construction site has large areas of flattened ground -- 'perfect' for watching an impromptu fireworks display?

The main worry is the damage that fireworks can cause, after all, they are explosives. Just a small, cheap firework can cause hundreds or even thousands of pounds worth of damage, and perhaps more worryingly, can be incredibly dangerous. The last thing you want is for your business premises to become a crime scene.

Our security guards are all highly trained -- and we never subcontract to ensure the quality of our staff. This means they are all up to date with their knowledge surrounding the law and what to do should an incident occur during their shift.

More importantly, having trained security officers on site act as an excellent deterrent to crime. If a group can see there are uniformed guards, they are much less likely to try and gain access, and even more unlikely to set off fireworks. If they are spotted on CCTV, our security guards can act swiftly and professionally to move them on, or even call the police should the situation require it.
