On Monday 12th April, we see the next step in the easing of lockdown restrictions. Outdoor spaces in pubs, as well as shops, gyms and hairdressers, can reopen once more. This means, as long as you stick to 'the rule of 6' or meet with just one other household, you can enjoy an alfresco beverage at your local pub. We have fully missed the hospitality industry and have had to adapt to them closing their doors in more ways than one. Many of our clients before COVID-19 included late-night venues or licensed gaming venues and so we're ready to support their re-opening with excellent security solutions.
Unlike the last time pubs could open their doors, there is no need for a substantial meal with an alcoholic drink and there isn't a curfew either. For pub owners up and down the country, this could mean for the first time in months and months they might be faced with customers who might be a little worse for wear by the end of their night. This highlights the need once more excellent security in the way of bouncers or door supervisors at these venues, and we couldn't be more excited to return!
Whilst we're still anticipating the return of a completely normal pre-COVID-19 'night out', where clubs can open too and groups of friends can mingle without worry, door supervisors and bouncers will have added responsibilities. As well as checking ID's, managing antisocial behaviour and, of course, welcoming your punters, our door supervisors will also be able to do the following to support with government guidance:
- Ensure groups of people stick to 'the rule of six' both when entering the venue and within the venue.
- Assist with any track and trace measurements in place at your venue before groups enter.
- Manage unruly individuals who might become confrontational, perhaps when faced with COVID-19 guidance.
- Support your staff in staying safe, this might extend their role from door supervision to patrolling the venue.
- Have extensive knowledge of COVID-19 government guidance and excellent communication skills to reduce the risk of antisocial behaviour.
