Any music event like a concert, festival or gig must have security to keep both the performers, staff and event goers safe. How you structure your security presence will depend on the location, size and nature of your event, and this is something we can help you plan for. As part of your security plan, you might consider -
- SIA licenced security guards
- Traffic wardens
- Crowd control
- Door supervisors to conduct ticket checks, bag checks and pats downs on entry.
- Security metal detectors
- CCTV cameras
- Security alarms
“How many security guards will I need?”
The predicted size of your event and venue will undoubtedly influence the amount of security you invest in to keep everyone safe. With COVID very much something we’re now all living with, the reduced nature of events is no longer a concern, meaning concerts, festivals and gigs are now likely to be at capacity as people feel more confident amongst large groups of people once more.
The precise number of security guards and where and when they’ll be positioned will be something we’ll discuss with you at length.
“What will security guards do at the event?”
Security guards who work any event must be adaptable and vigilant. Depending on their station, they’ll have a range of tasks and responsibilities to undertake during the course of the event.
Door supervisors will:
- To welcome conduct a ticket check on arrival
- Monitor any metal detector gates you may have in place
- Do security checks, including bag searches and pat-downs
Security guards will:
- To keep a close eye whilst the event is underway, act appropriately should they recognise any antisocial behaviour
- Patrol the event
- Answer any customer queries
- Manage any requests for ‘Ask for Angela’ or an ‘Angle shot’*
- Crowd control
Traffic wardens will:
- Maintain the orderly flow and parking of any vehicles
