Valentine's Day is the perfect day to think about everyone -- and everything - that you love. Family, friends and of course, significant others will come at the top of the list we're sure, as will pets and perhaps even special destinations or places that hold significant memories. But what about a career? They say if you fall in love with what you do for a living, you'll never work a day in your life. For us, that career is security, and there's a lot to love about it, particularly during these extraordinary times.
The term 'security guards' typically encompasses a range of differing job roles, including manned guarding and mobile patrols, as well as door supervisors. For us, it also involves COVID-19 Marshalls, though not strictly 'security guards' they receive similar and extensive specialist training as well as having the same core role at the heart -- to protect the public from the risk of harm.
So, why should a career in security seduce you?
You will be making a difference in people's lives
Whether you're on a night shift as part of a mobile patrol unit keeping a client's business premises safe from crime, or supporting the general public in the fight against a global pandemic as a COVID-19 Marshall, you will be making a difference. There's a reason why the security industry has been recognised as keyworkers, and we're incredibly proud to support in any way we can.
No two days are ever the same
Many careers involve jobs where the work is mundane, the setting remains the same and it can feel a little like groundhog day. Not when you work in the security industry. We are an ever-changing, adaptable industry, and COVID-19 Marshalls are an excellent example of that. This time last year, just a month before our lives were thrown in turmoil with an unknown virus, we'd have never predicted the changes we see in everyday life now, and we'd have never imagined the role of a COVID-19 Marshall. This is a perfect example of how the skills of a security professional can be adapted to the needs of the public.
You'll be part of a united team
In a world where opinions about how one should live their life are very much divided, it's a welcome benefit to be able to work alongside individuals who share the same outlook and goals.
For more information on how we can work with your local council during these unusual times by providing trained COVID-19 marshals, please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team.
Alternatively, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry and want to support your country in the fight against coronavirus, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We never subcontract our staff, we invest in their training and we work hard to support our staff. We look forward to meeting you.
